Chico is the directing duo of Kiel Kennedy and Mathieu Young.

Their creative partnership began at age 11, when they were cast in a children’s theater production of It’s a Wonderful Life. Against all odds, they’ve been working together ever since.

Kiel and Mathieu both studied at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, where they developed a mutual respect for deadpan delivery, tight storytelling, and productions that finish on time.

Kiel is the director of the Groundlings Sunday Company and an actor whose internet presence has been described as “alarmingly popular.” His comedy work spans TV, film, and whatever Instagram’s latest video format is called.

Mathieu is a commercial director and photographer who has led global campaigns for American Express, Visa, and AT&T, bringing a sharp eye and cinematic polish to brands that like their content to actually look good.

Together, they are Chico—named after their Northern California hometown—and they specialize in visually dynamic, social-native comedy. Smart. Fast. Slightly over-researched. Built for performance across screens and platforms.
